Born in Argentina, he studied Economics at the National University of La Plata (Argentina) and earned a Master's degree in Economic Development at the National University of San Martín (Argentina), where he specialized in economic development issues in small, open economies.
He later pursued his Ph.D. in Italy, at the University of Roma Tre, focusing on political economy. He has been a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge (UK), the National University of San Martín (ARG) and the National University of Moreno (ARG).
In Italy, he worked at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and at the University of Bari. He is currently an RTT at the Niccolò Cusano University in Rome.
His research centers on economic growth, income distribution, in both closed economies and small, open economies exposed to financial and trade flows. He also addresses topics related to economies of scale and import substitution processes.
